Clinical Trial Details

Primary Objectives:

• To conduct a retrospective and prospective evaluation of factors that impact patient decision-making for prophylactic contralateral mastectomy (PCM) in women diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) or assessed to be at increased risk for breast cancer;

• To design and pilot an intervention to enhance risk comprehension and informed decision making for women diagnosed with DCIS or who are at increased risk for breast cancer;

• To apply these pilot data towards an application for extramural grant funding to test the intervention in a multi-center study.
