Improving Physical Function and Fitness in Pediatric Sarcoma Patients: A Feasibility Study
Overview
Primary Objectives:
Aim 1a: To assess the feasibility of adding a structured physical therapy program focused on cardiovascular fitness to impaired limb physical therapy after local control in patients with pediatric sarcomas in order to improve physical function and quality of life.
Aim 1b: To evaluate the feasibility of performing standardized physical function assessments in patients with pediatric sarcomas while receiving chemotherapy.
Aim 2: To examine the characteristics of patients that influence participation in a structured physical therapy program beginning after local control.
Aim 3: To collect baseline physical function and quality of life data in sarcoma patients prior to local control and after the end of a structured physical therapy program based on tumor location.
